Big Data and AI in the era of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) metrics

WED 14:45 - 15:15

This is a 2022 presentation

In 2024, new regulation comes into play (Corporate SUstainability Reporting Directive - CSRD). 50.000 European companies - in all possible industries - are required to report on their climate targets and all other Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) metrics. At the same time, green financing (focused on sustainable assets) doubled every year to $500B in 2021. And green investors like the CSRD: “the market places a great deal of importance that companies are credible from an ESG perspective and can be held to account with regards to their ESG record” . Finally insurance companies analyze “climate risks” of individual assets and those residing in a brittle ecosystem may become unbankable, uninsurable and without political friends. Companies will have to offer proof to the contrary or their premiums will rise. This places new requirements on Data Collection, Data & Predictive Analytics, BI and reporting. Not just on themselves but on their entire supply chain. How can data and AI help in reporting. What kind of data - and to what level of detail would be required?

    Digital Innovation & datadriven enterprises
