ON BOARD: CAN DATA CONNECT ORGANIZATIONS? SOCIAL ISSUES BASED ON DATA WITH GEMEENTE ZAANSTAD.

13:40 - 14:20

Dit is een presentatie van 2017

Smart handling of data leads to measurably better results. Not only in the private sector, but also in the public sector. It is believed that in the public sector it leads to better results for society. Civil society organizations (Municipalities, provinces, hospitals, schools, housing corporations, healthcare institutions etc.) all want to do more with their data. At least all these organizations are in some way busy with getting more data-driven.
In addition to the fact that all these organizations are in some way engaged in data-driven work, we also see more and more complex social issues not caught by the boundaries of an organization. Solutions for security, sustainability, longer residence, early school leaving, child abuse, etc. are always in the hands of these organizations. The question is: can data connect us?

Tom Pots (information manager) jumps with us into four concrete results for Gemeente Zaanstad:

Data Lab
In the Data Lab, civil society organizations (health care institutions, police, GGD, housing associations, schools, etc.), science (VU / UvA) and, municipalities work together on tasks for the society (poverty, security, sustainability, economics, etc.).
Data warehouse
The goal: a data warehouse for the whole region, in which municipalities and social partners share data with society, ensuring privacy
Data Academy
Training, master classes, and inspiration sessions are organized for the municipalities, social partners and companies in the region and citizens.
Experimenting in pilots
In pilots, we feel and experience some data-driven work (people, technology, and data). In these pilots, the possibilities, but also issues of working with data are insightful.

Do you also realize that social issues do not get caught by the boundaries of an organization? Do you also want to improve cooperation between social partners based on data? Is your organization also working to work more data-driven? This session discusses chances and possibilities, but also the dilemmas and complexity.
